Three-mechanism grading: the gate, the rubric, the judge
Three-mechanism grading: the gate, the rubric, the judge
Ablation lab (Module 8, L8.3): no single way of knowing is enough. Fourteen labelled patches, three graders with three different blind spots. The deterministic gate alone ships 5 bad patches (9/14), the rubric alone 3 (11/14), the judge alone 2 (12/14). Stack them and rule by unanimity, staged by cost: full stack 14/14, 0 false-ships, cost 650. Ablate the rubric and mutates-input and empty-crash ship; ablate the judge and hardcoded and clever-fragile ship; ablate the gate and no verdict moves but the bill rises to 712. Averaging the three instead ships 5. In-memory only; the judge is a deterministic stand-in, no model or provider call.
